Main Ingredients:
4 rectangular pieces of fish (vetki/basa/cod/tilapia) fillet; tbsp lemon juice; 1 tbsp onion paste; ½  tsp ginger paste; ½  tsp garlic paste; ½  tsp green chili paste; 1 egg; 2 tbsp corn flour; 1 tbsp all purpose flour; 2 cups breadcrumb.

1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste.


  1. Wash the fillets thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Take the fish pieces in a bowl and pour 1 tbsp lemon juice over them.
  3. Sprinkle some salt and ½  tsp black pepper powder and rub each piece with your hand. Leave it for at least 15 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, make a batter with corn flour, all purpose flour, egg, onion paste, ginger-garlic paste, ½ tbsp lemon juice, ½ tsp black pepper powder and ½ tsp salt.
  5. Now marinate the fish again with this batter for at least half an hour.
  6. spread the breadcrumb on a flat plate.
  7. Take each fish piece out of the marination and place it on the breadcrumb. Put some gravy on it from the marination and coat both sides well with the breadcrumb.
  8. Press the four sides of each piece with the help of a knife to give it a particular shape.
  9. In this way make all pieces and take them on a plate.
  10. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry each pieces on medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  11. Take it out of the pan and serve hot with onion salad and ketchup/kasundi (mustard sauce).
