Main Ingredients:
400 gm onion flower cut into pieces (11/2 inch); 2 medium-sized potatoes cut into thin pieces (like french fries); 10-12 pieces medium-sized prawns/shrimps (cleaned and deveined); 1 medium-sized onion chopped; 1 small sized tomato chopped; 2 green chillies.

  • ½ tsp kalonji (kalojeera)
  • 2 dry chillies
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste.

  1. Marinate the prawns with ¼ tsp salt and turmeric powder. Leave it for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the prawns till they change to red. Keep aside.
  3. Temper the same oil with kalonji/ kalojeera and dry chilli.
  4. When the aroma of the spices come out, add chopped onion and fry until it becomes translucent.
  5. Add the potatoes and fry for 5 minutes.
  6. Add salt, turmeric powder and green chillies. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add chopped tomatoes and fry until the tomato pieces become soft.
  8. Now add the onion flower. Mix it well.
  9. Adjust the salt according to your taste.
  10. Mix the prawns with it.
  11. Put a lid and cook in low flame until the vegetables are done (stir it occasionally).
  12. Turn off the heat and serve hot with roti (chapati) or plain rice.
