Main Ingredients:
4-5 medium-sized potatoes cut into cube pieces; 2 tsp poppy seed (posto); 4 green chillies (slitted); mustard oil for cooking (preferably).


Spices:
  • ¼ tsp kalonji
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt according to your taste.


Steps:

  1. Make a thick paste of poppy seed along with two green chillies.
  2. Temper the oil in a pan/kadai with kalonji. When it starts to splutter, add the potato and fry till they turn golden brown.
  3. Add poppy seed paste and mix well.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder.
  5. Add green chillies and fry for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Now add some warm water and put a lid on it. Allow it to cook in low flame until the potatoes are done.
  7. Open the lid and wait till the water dries up.
  8. Turn off the heat and serve it with rice.
